Board and Management

Cotecna's Board is headed by Arlette Massey, who works alongside other members of the Massey family in unison with a dedicated management team.

Arlette Massey, Chairperson
Arlette Massey is the widow of the late Cotecna founder, Elie Georges Massey. She has actively contributed to the establishment of the Company from its beginning in 1975.  She is a member and Director of the Board since November 2010 and is Chairman of the Board since March 2011.

Robert M. Massey, Director
The youngest son of Cotecna founder, Elie Massey, Robert Massey holds an engineering degree from the renowned Ecole Polytechnic Fédérale de Lausanne. Robert became CEO of Cotecna in 1992. Under his leadership Cotecna has developed innovative trade security and trade facilitation services that have had a major impact on the inspection industry.

Philippe A. Massey, Director
Philippe Massey is the second son of Cotecna founder, Elie Massey, and joined the family firm in 1989. A law graduate from Geneva University and admitted to the bar of Geneva in 1997, Philippe has worked in a number of Cotecna divisions and is presently in charge of specific legal and corporate issues relating to the Group.

Claude Béglé, Non-Executive Director
Claude R. Béglé joined the Cotecna Board of Directors in 2008. He has extensive international management experience having worked in Europe, Asia, the Middle East Africa and Latin America, in executive positions, for major global companies. Claude has a very broad knowledge of the service and consumer goods sectors.

Dan Kerpelman, Non-Executive Director
Dan Kerpelman joined the Cotecna Board of Directors in 2009. A former GE, Kodak and SGS executive, he has over thirty years of experience in international companies, mostly in the healthcare technology sector. Dan is an engineer and holds a MBA from Northwestern University.

Thierry de Loriol, Non-Executive Director
Director Thierry de Loriol joined Cotecna's Board of Directors in 2004. He holds a law degree from Geneva University as well as an AMP from the London Business School. Thierry brings with him 20 years of experience in international investment and private banking.
